The 40 Surfers or so that paddled out at on the 1st August 08 at Southerndown Bay. To commemorate the life of Benny ( Ian Davies ). A reef of flowers was laid by brother Arwyn. And a toast was drunk at Sea to pay respect to the nicest guy. Followed by a Party at The Three Golden Cups.

impressive. the last 17 years of surfing in kernow had left me with the impression that surfers bloody hate one another. i thought only spongers got on ok. the welsh boys have humbled me. fair play lads.

I saw a tribute like this back when I was 8 in 1982 learning to surf at Piha in New Zealand. It was for a young lad who died on the roads above that spot (the few on MSW who've been to Piha will know what I mean) All his young surfing buddy's and family where there and it was a moving and proper send off. It is something that has always stuck with me. Great job to all involed.
