I hate to put a downer on everyone's idea of the superbank, but thought I would bring some reality into the mix. Yes, the superbank is awesome and yes, you can get rediculously great waves there but for that very reason it's absolutely packed! And 90% of the Aussie's that surf there seriously know what they're doing! The majority of them have also had their fill of tourists, having said that you have as much right to surf it as they do, so if you don't mind a scrap or two then go for your life! Best of luck!

When the superbank first appeared (i think it was because of some new pumping system) Kirra got way too much sand build up and it practically disappeared but apparently in the last year or so the superbank has split into a load of seperate peaks and Kirra's back on. It was insanely busy when i was there but at least now with all the peaks everybody gets a wave1

whats the deal with superbank and kira? i was reading an article about how superbank limited kira or something. never been but would love to get dropped in on or beat up there.
