Doesn't really matter what the big names are doing. Most of the people at my break are on either cheap chinese imports or Bic hire boards. Strangely the place is a lot quieter this time of year until next summer.

I'd expect the bigger the surf, the thinner the crowd by the look of things. What a F'in nightmare and what's the point? It's such a shame surfing has become so commercialized to a point where it's getting outrageously pathetic! Leading brands like Quiksilver, Billabong, Ripcurl and others should re-look at there strategic approach in their advertising to help this ongoing issue - they should be in the forefront to help.
