is it me or is that guy dragging his hand on the lip??
k-mart14 Oct 28, 2008 Rating: 0
Zachary get out of that sport asap unless you got a good chance of going pro. I dropped to much $$$ in that sport and surfing is way better.
westmonster Oct 28, 2008 Rating: 0
magicalmrm... there is nothing factual whatsoever about your statement. Check out the pics from the recent contest in the OBX. There are indeed world class waves to be had here. In fact, its just about as good as almost any beach break in the country. It doesn't regularly get as big as say Blacks -but it does pick up lots of swell from different directions. Its as good as Sebastian which is widely considered one of the best beach breaks on the EC. I've surfed both so thats my opinion.

Dear Mr squirl, what an angry man you appear to be. in response i would reiterate my comment and add FACT to the end
Zachary Oct 28, 2008 Rating: 0

macdaddy Oct 27, 2008 Rating: -4
CHECK OUT THIS GUYS POO STANCE!!!!!!!! HAHAHAHAHA
sqirl Oct 27, 2008 Rating: -1
Get a clue british guy. The outer banks cranks out world class waves! It is no Hawaii but neither is any spot in England. 1/1000 is the size of your brain measured in millimeters.
magicalmrmaccertron Oct 27, 2008 Rating: -2
bet that was a 1/1000 wavee this spot is average at the best of times from my experience.
sqirl Oct 24, 2008 Rating: -1
kmart the pics have posted. The quality is pretty bad and some of the pics posted twice by accident. Yours was definitely the pic of the day. the pictures dont really do the swell justice as they were taken after the tide began backing out and the wind picked up.
sqirl Oct 24, 2008 Rating: 0
good to hear the masonboro bar is back it has been a while since I surfed there but that place can be real fun.
alexfv Oct 24, 2008 Rating: 0
A friend of mine has been going there a few times, it's actually his pictures.
k-mart14 Oct 24, 2008 Rating: -5
Squirl-Thatd be great, that was a really fun day. The one pic you did post is actually of me so I figured there would have to be more. Alex- I was wondering cuz he actually owns a shop in Mancora and i was looking at the pictures you took.
alexfv Oct 23, 2008 Rating: 0
Hey Kmart14, no I don't, I surf mostly Masonboro Island and Wrightsville Beach. But I always want to make it up to S-turns, just about every other picture out of S-turns is a barrel. By the way Mase on Monday was on fire. The sandbar is back again. this coming Monday should be a good day for Mase again.
sqirl Oct 23, 2008 Rating: -1
Kmart, yes. The problem is that I am lazy and spend all my time commenting on photos instead of downloading them. The quality of the pics is pretty crappy but they give a good idea of what the swell was like and showcases most of locals. I will try to post them soon.
k-mart14 Oct 23, 2008 Rating: -2
Squirl...Do you have any more pictures from Hunting Island during the Hanna/Ike swell?
sqirl Oct 23, 2008 Rating: -2
No offense taken. American on American violence is a terrible thing. I take back my grow some nuts comment. Should we hug and sing cumbaya now?
westmonster Oct 23, 2008 Rating: 0
I really wasn't that angry Squirl but having re-read my comment I can see how it came across as rather heated; my apologies. I agree that the outer banks hold some of the best breaks on the EC. The barrels really do dredge and your right about the sand-in-teeth, I've been pummeled here plenty of times. Go to www.surfline.com and check out the video from the recent OBX contest between Virginia Beach and Outer Banks teams -freakin ridiculous tubes galore.
k-mart14 Oct 23, 2008 Rating: 0
hey alexfv, do you know Aaron of Soco?
sqirl Oct 23, 2008 Rating: -4
westmonster, where is your since of humor? The rodent thing was just a low blow (but funny). Dont be so sensitive your as bad as british and irish. I am glad to hear that you are an east coaster. I too have tasted the sands of the outerbanks as a result of pulling in to unmakeable bomb barrels. By far the best wave on the east coast once you pick the sand out of your teeth.
k-mart14 Oct 23, 2008 Rating: -1
In NC its most likely a low tide spot.
westmonster Oct 23, 2008 Rating: 0
By the way Ed SOME of them putter out and reform, but hardly all. Come to NC on a day like this and you'll see what I mean.
westmonster Oct 23, 2008 Rating: 6
Wait a minute, why are fools insulting me just cause I spoke the truth. I'm AN EAST COAST SURFER, and I've had my share of barrels in NC including here at S-turns. The outside bars pick up the big ones but they mush out and like I said they simply clean up. Its not a matter of having balls, I'd like to see how long it takes you to paddle out on a day like this rodent, and then I'd like to see you navigate the outsiders that come from nowhere and cause havoc.
Jim MSW Oct 23, 2008 Rating: 0
nice style. is he dragging his hand?
sqirl Oct 23, 2008 Rating: 1
Sick tube. grow some nuts westmonster.
alexfv Oct 23, 2008 Rating: -1
hey k-mart14 , what's the best tide for this spot to put out the barrels?
alexfv Oct 23, 2008 Rating: 10
westmonster, you're absolutely right. I think what's worse is that you never get to ride those bombs, and when they break outside. It kinda sucks a little because the waves loose a lot of power by the time they reach the break. That's still a sick wave though.
k-mart14 Oct 22, 2008 Rating: 2
Those outside breaks just roll and roll and when they get up to where that guy is getting covered thats usually the bigger set and the place to be. But if it was on a reef then it would stand up the whole way through. I love me some EC.
Ed Stogdale Oct 22, 2008 Rating: 0
stop being such a girl, theyre only reforms.
westmonster Oct 22, 2008 Rating: 4
Look out back! I freakin can't stand that crap about the east coast. When it gets real big and good, like this, the outer sand bars pick up some of the bombs and obliterate everyone in the lineup. Theres no safe place to be. Riding beach break like this is so much harder and more shifty than lots of reef breaks of similar size.
