Sweet photo well done! Had some many great surfs there, but have you seen the now stone bank thrown up by the last flood sending rocks down the river makes for interesting surfing
Gsurf Oct 24, 2008 Rating: 2
People should just stop gettin annoyed at other people when surfing. We surf to have fun not to get pissed off. It's only a wave at the end of the day and there's allways more on the way. YAY!!!! : )

Never heard anything like that anywhere, you must have just met an asshole!

I paddled out out here on a crappy cross shore 2ft day just for the hell of it, some kook on a bic board paddled up to me and told me that Easkey is reserved for members of the Irish Surfing Association only, so much for the friendly locals!
surfkitten Oct 23, 2008 Rating: 1
If you don't have anything nice to say, don't say anything at all. The locals are not a problem its the 'blow ins' who behave as if they own the place that are the problem. Be nice and play nicely and you will be treated the same... ;0)

pity bout the car in the shot, reminds you its 2008, otherwise this could be mid 18th century from the look of it. Great pic

Opp's Ment to put in 08:00am, was really about 7:30
reeferjunkie Oct 23, 2008 Rating: 60
Sunday @ 8pm. You won't see this wave empty on a sunday with nice conditions like that (guess 5 foot and strongish offshore). 8PM in oct is a bit too dark to surf, the pic has been tastefully post processed to be more visible, etc. But really it would be too dark at this time, hence the empty wave.

The birds and stormy sky around the tower make it.

The crows circling around the castle give it an almost ominous and foreboding impression :o

Hey Oldguard, But I often find that its more the newcommers to the sport that put up these photos rather than the guys who know the score. Its the internet after all...ya can't stop it...but at leat there havin a bit of pride in where there from. Its a bit out my cocks bigger than your talk to be honest. Ye, like some of the other boys have been saying, enough photos of Ireland already!! some of our local breaks were ruined a few years ago by web site photos of them! why do you need to share them with everyone?? whats wrong with just your mates? think about guys!.

One thing I will say to put everyone off is that this photo probably doesn't capture how cold it is. Having said that I was there in Sept 2002 and I had 10 days of sun and great swell, some of the best people I've ever met and a great laugh all round ... doh!
buckets Oct 22, 2008 Rating: -3
nice place, nice photo.
Monty Oct 22, 2008 Rating: 17
It has been a while since I have surfed here but this photo captures the place. Next time I will come with more than a bike, trailer and one pan to cook with (god bless your hospitality). Yes there are better waves around but that does not detract from this right-hander. For those who know the west coast keep enjoying, for those about to come, you will not forget it and the the rest who cannot make it, oh well, maybe one day! regards to you in Easky. Monty
