friend and i were driving over the hill from Puts when we saw this. Look at the scale when the doors in the foreground are 6ft.

I think I would die if I tried to surf that wave.

waves like this don't come around often, we've all looked at a nice wave and wish we were there with our boards. All waves here and accross the pond are for sharing it's only lack of respect which ruins it for everybody. it was taken before september as i was there in the perfect september swell and it was a little cleaner in september as well. there were only about 40 people out and 40 people taking photos from the cliff. both of these days were very good.

Sorry to disapoint squirl (squirrell?), I am not "starring in" anything here. I was suggesting mole ignore your baiting. In fact you are right, there are plenty of people in our country who do think they are straight outta compton and it is quite sad. I am suggesting we should be proud of and use our own dialect as americans do yours (britches are monkeys rescued by the ALF & breeches are for holding ones trousers (pants) up?). i surely don't hate americans - where would we be without all that enthusiasm and i empathise with westmonster: i also have no idea what VW was saying about standing on beaches. Maybe he was typing too fast? i would be happy to surf alongside many of you but i might hesitate to sit on the beach afterwards around a friendly fire.

haha how do chaps, sqirl good to see you're still causing controversy where ever you go! you would have thought by now that people would realise that its just a piss take to ease the boredom of working life. ah well at least im finished for xmas hahahaha!
sqirl Dec 9, 2008 Rating: 18
see what did I tell you....vw just did a spot on redman impression. try some snoop dog next vw and give it a little compton flavor!
westmonster Dec 9, 2008 Rating: 18
vw-surf its "yanks" thats what you lymies call us, and we prefer "cheese burgers", only newbs eat "ham" burgers. And I have no idea what your trying to express with the whole "stand on a beach vs. surfing" deal. What does that even mean? Perhaps if you structured your comment into comprehensible sentences using even somewhat proper punctuation it might make sense.
The Dizz Dec 9, 2008 Rating: 3
You wankers need to calm down and to think such a wave could come from "across the pond" as we say now, I guess the Atlantic Ocean must be a Yank thing?
vw-surf Dec 9, 2008 Rating: 2
yo yankies, fancy a ham burger i mean can u lot even stand on a beach let alone the beach surfing not really the same when you get da boat out back.... get a grip lads
sqirl Dec 9, 2008 Rating: 21

Dicer Dec 9, 2008 Rating: -1

fedearchdale Dec 8, 2008 Rating: 20
Looks like the Mexican Pipeline but in a british coastline! fantastic bomb!
westmonster Dec 8, 2008 Rating: 2
hahaha, man, the english and their adorable language and pronunciations -using "tit" as an insult and wondering why us yanks don't take offense but laugh hysterically...hahaha. smashing!
sqirl Dec 7, 2008 Rating: -1

Woops, missed a few comma's and spaces. Here you are ,, , , . Great shot of N.Devon's jewel by the way. Were there no foamies taking any that day?
Ben Hobbs Dec 7, 2008 Rating: 5
Ah don't be hooked into a barney with squirl - he just cruises looking for aggro. Me, I think we should start using our native slang far more than the 'yo diggedy jive' that seeps in from over the pond. It is our forte .....(une momente ...!) .... well we just should. I think smashing is top hole. Don't go bashing the yanksall the time - go and look up the drool on some of the NE30 crew (Tynemouth)posts on MSW if you think that low IQ is limited to the yanks or aussies. You should just save it for when it matters. And to keep it topical:- "The French don't have a word for entrepreneur." - G.W.Bush
mole39 Dec 6, 2008 Rating: 2
Great shot of some classic British winter lines, I loves it!! I've always wonder why no matter what forum you go on the comments boards always boil down to the same old thing, YANKS VS THE REST OF THE WORLD. gofigure.com
sqirl Dec 6, 2008 Rating: -1

isuckatlyfe Dec 6, 2008 Rating: 103

Pyeman Dec 5, 2008 Rating: 2

Could have been this Wednesday,it went from 2ft in the morning, to 8ft barrels in 3 hours. If you look half way up on the left, you can see where the Beach Club used to be in the 70's and 80's, before they built apartments. Good times, only pub with a surf view in Croyde.
jon terry Nov 29, 2010 Rating: 0
Fuck me the beach club that a blast from the past I got pissed up with my Dad there for the first time I was only fifteen and I only had three Blackthorns but I was so bolloxed when I woke up on the beach at tea time I was sunburnt everywhere except my belly where my hand had been for hours and I had a big white hand print on my stomach for weeks.
