surfed it last week it was a foot of wind slop on the beach and 2 foot on the reef it was fun short but super shallow wave! it should be a sick little wave on those winter ground swells

No i really dont like hacky sacks or bean bags or newquay and i really dont like camper vans and i dont rock wood and i see your point but i dont hold it against those who do. How ever i really love people who moan more than me . I think you missed the point about surf shops bra, no dramas tho chief . We all gotta start somewhere.

Ps can i have a go on your hacky sack, or are you busy enjoying south fistral with several other thousand people...

@bunyip dont really give a crap about the local shops, i want empty-ish line ups over a ripcurl tshirt anyday! Yes true. a heavy shorebreak will snap a board, but i really hope you dont mean any of the spots round here as they are weak at best. an exposed reef wether its sand bags or not is going to cause a lot more snappedge than any sand break for miles around bournemouth. And yes i AM grateful, as far as our councils normally poor attempts at creating tourist revenue, this is a breath of fresh air. Just a shame they had ruin the whole of Southbourne for years in the process of their "beach replenishment scheme", most of it is still knackered! Its never going to be THAT good out there purely because of the amount of kooks that already live here and will surf it out of novelty factor, then go home in their camper vans, "crash on the bean bag" and tell thier girlfriends how they surfed a "gnarly reef" today! Let alone the people who come down to bournemouth especially to surf it! i saw 8 people out the other day and it was less than a foot and onshore...unless it gets massive (for bournemouth) you wont see me out there..way too many bellends

Chaps be glad there is something on you doorstep. Go rip it to pieces yes kooks suck but they keep trade comming to surf shops and lets face it most of us are tight as a ducks arse when it comes to spending. Anyway i am yet to see anyone who does not get in any bodys way down there kook ripper longboarder or other enjoy and let your surfing do the justice , besides its just sand not slab and a decent shorey will take down ya best fiber glass friend worse than this.Only time will tell how this place will go and i hope it goes well .Whinge on.

Plenty of kooks in the winter too these days! Hopefully the shallowness of it will go through a few boards, keep em out of the water til they can sell enough surf beads and hacky sacks to buy a new one!
Sneakybadger Jul 24, 2009 Rating: 1
moan moan moan, if theres a rip then paddle, if its shallow, suck it up and take the drop.....if you cant handle it then go surf sandbanks!
js1990 Aug 7, 2009 Rating: -1
hahaha yes well said sir! being shallow the reef should serve up some lovely carpet burn for any kooks trying there luck and send them packing! the right is proper fun
jasonck Jul 21, 2009 Rating: 0
Its the reef, taken from up top. The rights the best, plus theres no rip..
Joe Hart Jul 21, 2009 Rating: 0
That is the new reef, it's waist deep on high tide and exposed on a low tide. It's also a really short wave so what you see in the photo is all you get. (plus a bastard rip)

thats looking sick, was this shot of the pier? how big was your lens?
dom staff Jul 20, 2009 Rating: 0
