Truth be told... suits now days keep you toasty in the coldest of the cold waters.. its the wind when your ripping that suit off that kills me. i'll take an empty line up in cold water over warmer waters and a mob scene any day.

Frack. "There'll be", not "they'll be". Not that it matters much on this site, but it matters to me.

See note below re fuzzy dive vest. They're excellent. Re cold water crowds, at my favorite break they'll be 30 people on a good day in January, and 200 in July. The best time for laughs is the first warm day in April when the summer surfers show up with their 3-2s, no boots or gloves, and hit water that's still in the mid 40s (F).

I was wearing a 5/4. Its gets pretty toasty after you get going. The first things to get cold are you're feet. It's a session ender when you stop feeling you're feet on your board.

i used to not wear socks/boots under my fins all year round. first 5 mins in winter (7C) are painfull then they just go numb. grand until you get out and try to walk, feels like shin stumps but i started getting this mad tiggling in my toes even if i just touched the top of my feet. off to the surf shop for a pair 4mil booties

Feet may never get cold if you wear dive socks inside the boots. I hate being cold, so frequently overdress. Dive socks and fuzzy dive vest (which totally blocks wind once out of suit) is a great way to stay toasty. I've been craving the short trip to Lawrencetown for years.

Yeah thats me. For real, feet heat is the way to go. Before and after a session.

truth. gotta blast the car's floor heat before you even step outta the suit.

Yep. Even with a new pair of 7 mil boots every winter and my feet are always still the first thing to go. Is that you in this photo Noah Fects? cool shot.

Although it's cold , it's an empty line up, and i'd rather be there.

I would rather put the 6m on than deal with Douche bags in the line up:)

great wave, empty line up... it looks nice but the truth is this guy is laboring around with 6 mil of rubber on him and is still freezing his dick off. I'd chose a warm crowded place any day.
