Not too shallow, you might bump and slide along the bags a bit, I've been smashed out there a few times but you rarely hit the bottom.

Good to see these pics in the Bournemouth ECHO with a positive write up. Shame about the 'experienced surfer' Chris Skoane-Roberts giving his clueless opinion...again. The guy's a kite surfer ! I guess that explains it

Great to see the photos in the Bournemouth ECHO with a positive write up, until 'experienced surfer' Chris Skoane-Roberts gave his clueless opinion... again. Just to let people know, this guy is a kite surfer/wakeboard instructor, says it all doesn't it. Well I can say there's always one idiot ay Chris :)

Since they built the reef the pier has become a bit more civilised. We only get to mow down stray triathletes.

Well it's a fat weak wave the reef is more powerful and hollower, it's no surprise that the crowds at the pier have eased!

surfed it a couple of hours after this and it was nuts. got caught inside on the biggest set of my sesh and only just made it under as the wave pitched. was over head high and the lip was thick as. Not ashamed to say I nearly crapped my wettie. And you gotta love the air drops, roll on winter

I cant believe it, I watched webcam all day and it looked so messy, what time and more importantly what tide did it look so good, send me a private email, great shots

either your response is a ploy to keep people away which is fair enough... if not, your ignorance amuses me. I'm not going to get into a debate whether the reef works or not, I think the pictures speak for themselves. Cheers, Paul
