I love when the left is working it is a fun but short ride. Taking off behind the cliff for the right is the way to go though.

Remember that peak well, as it landed on head one day, and ripped my board completely out of my hands as I tried to duck dive. Gotta watch those cleanup sets on the middle peak!

This is why we surf right here! looks like its comin to the end of the day and its still pumping out glorious surf and you just cannot seem to get out of the drink, you tell yourself every wave is the last and yet you keep turning round for 'one more wave' before you know it its pitch black

Truely beautiful, almost brings a tear to the eye. Love the lighting and composition, it actually makes me want to be sat on the beach watching than actually being out there. Just kind of want to sit back and just admire!

And here's a minor point Francois...One I hate to admit also. The Brits get BIGGER, better, more consistant surf year-round than we do here in Florida...if a bit colder. The 10 times World Champeen of the World of Surfin' is from Florida. Kelly Slater. You may have heard of him. Don't know if he's considered big or not. I can get his height and weight for ya if you want. He was a grom like you once though. Only a lot younger at the time.

I'm deleting my question in about 5 minutes to preserve the mystery 'Francois'...You ARE quite good btw!!!...You've got me a little riled at times...And I'm not a Brit!!!...I DO like skilled 'instigators'...and you are one.
Francois Bouwer Jan 25, 2011 Rating: -4
That is probably because with british surf, you don't get heavy stuff often enough to get fit and mentally prepared for the beatings of heavy waves. (That is unless you cross train, in which case, I take my words back. Even in consistent SA, I still have to cross train to surf decent sized waves like this.)

You can almost hear the poor guy paddling out thinking "Damn, if I only I had been here 2 minutes earlier......" Great shot.
