Actually, lets not be narrow minded and consider the possibility that we live in a godless universe. Let us also consider why a god would want to create a race in his image, a race that is going to last a totally insignificant amount of time in the universe that was created solely for them. And also why would God decide to show his face just 2 millenia ago when the beings he created space and time for have been around for 50 millenia. And for that matter, why wait 13 billion years before bringing humans into existence. Now, don't take this for some atheistic rant, I'm not wholly against some type of 'god' being out there. Just certainly not the God that Christianity believes in. He's a big no no.
