This is not photoshop. It is HDR and this is a solid example of what HDR can do. Surprising how we have become accustomed to "flat" photos and defend that look as being real, when it is not, and poo-poo newer technology that creates more reality. Embrace this as more is to come...and that is a great thing. Great Shot!

Right your are SOS. But there is also a ghost image function in the HDR toolkit allowing for "movement" within the bracket photos such as surfing pics - and it works well. Most heavy hitters like Art Brewer, etc are now using HDR, selectively. Having shot in HDR a good bit, I appreciate the images sense of space. And this pic really "feels" HDR.

this is NOT HDR! hdr means high dynamic range.. aka multiple exposures in 1 shot... as in mathmatical values the eye cant see all at once... so raw HDR shots look dull and grey.. and you have to use software to "tonemap" them

Not sure if this is HDR or not, but I still think he used photoshop to add some blur to the foreground and background to create this effect. Either way I like it. It just changes the way the subject is presented. Its not like he is altering a 1ft air to look like a 12ft air.

Tilt Shift is awesome--great effect on this one!!!

yer your correct it is photoshop, but nothing has been done to the actual waves or the rider, the photoshop effect is something called tilt and shift, you can buy specific tilt and shift lens, but its alot cheaper and easier to do it through photoshop, due to the horizontal line thats in focus in this photo shows thats its been done in photoshop. completly sick photo and the effect has worked really well with this i think.
