Leash at Puerto is ill advised when heavy. It somehow acts as an anchor and causes surfer to get hella worked.

No leash is the way to go only stupid people where I live have made it a law you have to wear one if you are within 400 ft of another surfer or person in the water; 400ft really more than a football field freakin IOP morons

i haven't posted any comments recently, but i had to reply to that. I think the law on IOP makes alot of sense. too many beginners go there, and it's really dangerous when they don't wear leashes. especially beginner SUP's. I've seen a SUP at IOP hit multiple surfers on a crowded day in ONE wipeout. you can't control those boats when you spill and they could literally kill someone. at least wear a leash. even the "rippers" at folly could use some ankle bracelets cause everyone drops their board every once in a while
