This is not Croyde. This is one of the UK's best breaks and on its day, one of Europe's top waves. Most good Brit sufers will known where it is, no need for names here. I have surfed this wave at double overhead and flawless. Then had a pint at the House of the Rising Sun. This man from Bocas Del Toro, Panama says "the UK rules"! Great picture.

every comment so far made is absolutely turd, wft u on about, when has croyde been a boulder break, when has this spot been secret and since when do you not mention it and then describe tide, swell and wind conditions if its secret? The uk is ridiculous for kooks having a surf lesson, looking on obvious websites and then commenting on what they might of read. Grow up, most of you have probably never surfed!

It is that lovely break north from Croyde, not mentioning its name because its a nice local break and shouldn't be exploited. Needs a large swell to sweep round. Doesn't work too often but lovely when it does. Rocky bottom and hard to get out if you don't know the break. Long lefts and fun on a lighter wind. Not for the beginner!!!
Surfer J Jul 8, 2009 Rating: -3
where was that picture taken, looks a bit like croyde

Looks nothing like Croyde!
Orthojac Aug 17, 2009 Rating: -3
About half hour-45 minutes drive from Croyde. Always looks a hell of a lot smaller than it actually is from the top of the hill. Long journey to get there, no webcams, serious surfers about when it's on, breaks over boulders. Avoid unless you are good.

PSALM 77:19 Jun 5, 2009 Rating: 6
How big is it? It's hard to tell. Are the dots surfers or rocks? Does the sheep only surf on the bigger days?

@ Grom - I know exactly how this break works, I drive past it every day and surf it whenever I can. And its no secret spot. Its in every surf guide you'll find. Its in the local tourist literature. Its on the councils own tourist website fer gawds sake. It will never get supercrowded because it's fickle, rocky, shit parking most of the year, horrible getting in, miles off the beaten track, bad water quality, underwater obstructions, no lifeguards, etc etc. I apologise profusely for my previous comments. Happy?
ballbag Mar 30, 2011 Rating: -2
it doesnt need to be that big but why the fuck are people printing information about when it works? go there every time you think it may be working and youl soon work it out. all you dick heads that live knowhere near the break commenting about swell directions and sizes it needs to work are fucking idiots. shit this makes me angry!
seabassjac May 1, 2009 Rating: -2
Needs a BIG north devon swell. Gets crowded too but its a nice break with l o n g left handers peeling all the way along.
