About Surf Camp Sri Lanka

Morning Glass

Surfcamp Sri Lanka is the result of over ten years of experience working in and running surf camps in Europe. Established in 2004 we have developed a solid relationship with the local people of Sri Lanka and are stoked to be among the first surf camps in the area to be spreading the word.

Founder Matt Shears has over 12 years professional surf coaching experience holding qualifications from the BSA, NaRs(BL) and the FPS (surf federation of Portugal).

Our Sri Lanka surf camp is open from the middle of november through until the end of january, we hope in the future to offer longer, we deal in small groups, max 12 people. Beginners and experienced are welcome. The water is warm so no wet suit required. The weather and climate are best descirbed as tropical! Please take some time and look over the vidoes and photographs of the past few years on face book. We are taking bookings now for this year.

We offer an unforgettable surf vacation for both beginners and more experienced surfers looking to discover a beautiful country and surf uncrowded warm water waves in the deep south of Sri Lanka.

Surfing and traveling to this part of the world still holds a real sense of exploration and adventure. Known for its lack of big hotels or surf scene, surfing here is for people who want to enjoy the true essence of a surf holiday. Uncrowded warm water waves beach and reef breaks many still unridden or undocumented waiting to be surfed.

Goodnight Sri Lanka

Drift off to sleep with the sound of the waves breaking on the shore then wake up for a surf check, looking out the window!

From there, decide if you want to go for a sun rise surf before breakfast or wait and catch a wave during the evening glass off. Regularly made available, video analysis with frame-by-frame breakdowns of style and technique will help any surfer improve while staying with surf camp Sri Lanka.

Together with uncrowded line ups and surfing with small groups of surfers we are confident that you will improve your surfing and get some quality waves.

Our main objective at Surfcamp Sri Lanka is to get you in the water as much as possible. Surfing with others at the same level is truly the best way to improve as well as learning from watching your own mistakes by way of video analysis.

We believe that learning to surf above all else should be safe and fun. Small groups and almost perfect Indian Ocean conditions provide an excellent environment for all levels. We can all learn something?

Pleas look around the website, check out the pictures and videos and don’t hesitate to to email with any questions.
