fhew!!! i thought all Newquays secret spots would be "raped" on tape but thanks to clever editing and no visable landmarks our secrets stay secret! nice vid by the way......i miss summer already!

Boydie, question, is the wave you drop out of the sky on at :43 on you MVP vid the left in queistion? its not baggies.

The only real negative thing i can say about the vid is Alans board is too big...he has trouble slowing down for the tube! :o)

Boydie (Mark) listen, people who live in glass houses shouldnt throw stones! you quite openly publish pics of you surfing san juan in lanzer, anchor's in morroco, java and even a left that looks remarkably like the one you jump to defend so passionately on your facebook, all these were considered secret at one time. you have no problem with self promotion looking at your website so you cant go down the soul surfer road. most people who have posted on here do live near good spots and are not kooks. we live in an ever shrinking world. Ask Mr Stokes (or whoever) next time they post a vid if they can put a wave or 2 of you on and eveything will be ok. is that about the size of it?

avin a sniff....maybe. always look forward to surfing new spots. heard the little beachy near u has been fun, maybe surf the reef near the lighthouse if the swell builds! intersting thing you said, quote-"it is irational to just blame websites like msw for any increase in numbers of surfers anywhere. Its a growing sport, the sea is a free resource for us and as a result its only ever going to get busier. boydie, you really need to get of your high horse. how you can sit there and say "this was one of the LAST secrets" and at the same time post a vid on youtube which has a massively bigger following than MSW (no offence gents)of you surfing "baggies" which was considered at the time "was one of the LAST secrets" to help you get hits for the UK most MVP race?! THEN have the audacity to say "do you know how crowded it gets up here?"!!!! do you have any idea what its like to live in a town where 400+ students came every year to have a contest...wait of course you do....as you were part of the event (surfing a board shaped in newquay i might add). did you see all the SW surfers up in arms?? NO! 3 guys paddle out at a spot near you and surf it better. thats it in a nutshell!

no...my point being, if you want to keep a secret you dont tell anyone. if you want a top secret meeting to stay secret, i wouldnt tell a complete stranger who was looking for it by going on a "much frustrated wild goose chase"....cheers for your praise btw.

	I think the generally welcoming attitude that most surfers who are 'local' to an area have begins to disintegrate once the money men start to show up. They're a bit like pimps, making a nice little cut out of selling a spot which eventually becomes just another wave to tick off the list in every travelling surfers book. Same thing's been happening with a certain wave up here which got some magazine coverage a while back that upset the regulars. Watch this area (NNE) for news of a surfer/surfers getting prosecuted under local by-laws forbidding the use of any water craft being launched from the shore. It's just a matter of time & I'm willing to bet it'll be as a result of attention being drawn to the particular spot by a blundering crew,cameraman or film-maker in tow, wanting to claim their new find.
