The flatness continues here...with a hiccup of a small swell around Christmas Day. Have you recovered from all that flooding & related damage there yet? Looked pretty bad in the news reports back then. Went through a real flooding & mold damage nightmare here back in 2004 with 2 hurricane direct hits on us.

We have winter/spring tourist hoards here. Traffic is a nightmare at times then. The summer months here are just too brutally hot and humid(like right now)to appeal to anyone but Haitian immigrants...and the surf is flat. Damn, only just read it now! IN MY OFFICE UGH!! But.......had a sweet Lev session yesterday and it was fooking crowded but I hassled my partially bearded way into the pecking order ;) tried my first attempt at a backflip which I damn near landed but ended up landing nose first and pitching over the falls. Yep, you win so far, mine is defo top trumped by a Cannonball Run DVD! A mug warmer uses energy and at least gives something back in the form of heat, Cannonball Run needs energy to play and keeps on draining energy, soul, patience and then ultimately the will to live. Although to be fair, they will both be used as glorified drinks coasters eventually.

Its annoying as i know every nook and crannie from Cardiff West to Aberystwyth or thereabouts but when it comes to my new homeland of Devon/Kernow i only knwo the obvious places. Im rpeusming that little breaks like erm, Porthmeor in st ives will probably work on this kind of swell? But i have no angle on this SW wind short of trudging up the coast to rifles or Puts. So any hints would be really appreciated...im around gwithian for the best part of the weekend, but wiht winter coming in and my imminent move south from Wales i need a bit of the loco-know-how! thanks again buddy :)

yeah, been pretty lucky really. went in last weekend to Skilly's and got battered. t'was only 4-5ft but high tide shore dump in not much water. my chum Mike snapped his surfboard too which was gutting for him, only had it three weeks!! charts looking good for tomorrow for a sheltered spot just round the corner. photo of it on my group of pics (right hander with rocks in foreground).
Shame about your mate's board. Yeah had a look at your photos before and there's some good. Dunno about down in the southwest but up here the weather is vile, so if you do go to the 'sheltered spot' you might be lucky enough to get a few decent waves...hope you can :)
ooooooooohhhh yesssssssss! got it perfect. managed to go in just down the road (5 mins walking) and it was nuts! I was only one in at 11.00am and it took me 20 mins paddle out, caught about 6 waves and boosted on one but no photo =(. got some of me paddeling out though to show scale and it was pushing 5-6ft...they shall be on me photos soon.....oh yeah we had to call the coastguard too cos some douche bags went in on the left, BAD MOVE, serious rip where river comes out and they got dragged onto cliffs so after twenty mintues I paddled over and got one back then managed to get mobile phone off some onlooker, got police and all sorts=(
Action packed time out there huh? It sounds wicked Dicer, I thought that it might be a bit crazy because of the storms we're having at the moment, but 20 minutes to paddle out.....goodness. But it was luck for the others out there that you were around to help out. Did you know them and were they bb's or standup's? I love the gollum description - and have fullr espect for DK-ers and the like...i think its fun to ditch on each other but all of my expereinces int he water with boogers have been very positive - and of course thats how i started on my polystyreene surf board/booger in france some 20 years ago! all good fun my friend! That’s some mileage Dicer, it does my swede in when you drive all over the shop and then find your local spot pumping. I didn’t have time for a fruitless wild goose chase and all my local spots looked in a right state due to winds so I stayed dry all week (apart from my cheeks where the bitter salty tears of regret dripped onto my laptop….makes a change from tail-sap I guess!)
