I know the line between advertisment and entertainment/information is blurred anyway but I´d just love to have MSW keep it seperatetd at least to a certain degree. There´s nothing wrong with selling ads and it´s solely MSW´s decision to whom they sell as it´s our decision to buy products of a certain brand or not. But running a piece like this as a feature video - for me - leaves the foul impression that this otherwise great website is handing over part of their editorial sovreignty to corporate interests.
In my eyes it is way out of proportion. A mini-surfing-bit barely justifies the massive amount of the sheer marketing siege of this piece. This house-thing is a random marketing tool that has nothing to do with surfing. Yes, it is the means and the scale and the shallowness and the impertinence of the whole thing that annoyes me. And you must not explain economics to me. This thing is in the wrong place. It is an ad. It is not a feature.
Hey MSW! Why is this blatant farce a feature article? It is a mere commercial! Just DO NOT DO IT! I see many features are part marketing - no problem. But this crap is too much! Now they try to buy surfing as they tried with skateboarding! NO SUPPORT!

Now that I got Mavericks is in Ireland (and not in Florida, duh) and they call it Aileens over there (whatever that means), I dare to suggest that getting smashed in 1000ft cliffs by 20ft whitewash might not be so different from getting smashed in 50ft cliffs by 20ft whitewash. Maybe the 1000ft smashing would feel more majestic (20 times)?
