I began surfing in 1964 and surfed all over the East and West coasts of the US; designed a few boards which Hobie custom shaped: one of the boards, an 8'6" "short" board--hey, it was 1969!--worked really well, but the others sucked, an expensive lesson. I kept surfing for a while, but moto-cross and later mountain biking won out. Now, I'm a road rider mostly, fit and active (59 years old). I've always loved the ocean and have kept going to the breaks when there was surf like recently. A client of mine owns a surfboard manufacturing company (very small contractor and custom builder). He said he will hook me up with a new stick (Is that still a usable term or does it date me as an old out-of-touch farht? Anyway, I'm in!
