Matt, bumped into you a couple of times, work with young(ish)Ross. Only had a chance to check this spot this week, would I be right that it's the car park at the pits and the slab would be about level with the entrance to Juniper?

I think I know who you mean [life vest?]... Yeah, that's the right area. Seriously, it could kill you - don't paddle out thinking it's going to be like the other beaches, but a good bit better and more hollow, it's an entirely different sort of thing. I can't tell you what to do, and without trying to be patronising, I hope you don't try to go out there, not until you're more experienced in critical waves. Sorry if that was offensive, but by all means come down and check it out

Matt, im heading to Portrush in May you reckon it will be worth coming along with my bb? if so maybe we can hit up a slab together?
Matt Wright1848 days ago +32 Rating Rate Positive Rate Negative
You may get swell in May, but it isn't regarded as one of our more consistent months. But yeah, feel free to give me a shout if you're about.

Hy Matt I'm a bodyboarding saffa living in Belfast, I couldnt help but notice a picture you recently posted up of a right hand slab with a bodyboarder on it and was hoping you could tell me how to get there? I am very desperate for some waves of consequence but understand if this is a secret spot, if yo can tell me I can guarantee I wont show up with a crew of people - BECAUSE I DONT KNOW ANYONE IN NORTHERN IRELAND!!!! Hey Gregg, that's pretty much the sort of response I was hoping for actually. Me and a few boys used to surf this place a lot, but i moved away from the Port about 7years ago, kinda moving back again now. But it seems nobody surfs here anymore, few of the local boys say it doesn't break like it used to, which I think means they don't want to know. I stuck a few of the old shots up to see if I could get any interest, don't like surfin here on my own, especially as I'm a lot more rusty than i was 7yrs ago. Ok, so it's easy enough to find... get on the road from Portrush to P'stewart, look for a caravan park on the left called Juniper Hill. Just passed the entrance to it there's a couple of odd little turns to the right, they don't really go anywhere, park in one of those and look back to your right. You can see it from there, about 500metres away. Give me a text if your coming up, or have any questions 07860109582 Matt

Hey Matt. Great shots of the slab. I've posted a couple of them at www.confessionsofasurfer.com and have attributed them fully to yourself. If you're not happy with them being there just give me a shout and I'll remove them ASAP. All the best. Thom

no bother, I really can't see this place getting crowded anytime soon. I would honestly welcome a few more people checking it, but it really wouldn't be sensible for most to tackle it.
