Hi Carl, it wouldn't work, surfing is down to individuals,The hassle last weekend wasn't down to beginners or non "locals", just selfishness, if you formed a group like this it wouldn't work, There isn't any localism in Bournemouth as with other surf spots, a lot of people don't see eye to eye and as for people policing the line up in anyway, that would start so much shit,it would probably do the opposite in what you were trying to achieve? The Wessex surf club meetings were a prime example of the "differences" in the area within a relatively small surf community, even something positive like that couldn't be sorted out, I think its down to individuals to behave and if needed educate others, I myself got pretty pissed of last week in the surf and Ejected one of the two surfers that dropped in on me!, it wasn't until i had done this that i realised there was someone behind me too!! they could surf and no doubt new they shouldn't have dropped in, They did know they were doing it as i called them, PS sorry to the guy i did it to! I really don't think its going to get any better! its a shame really as it can be a really fun wave. I also don't think signs would do anything in the way of the hassle/drop-ins either although if the council decided to put them up it may help beginners from getting into trouble, so would be good for that. Hope the surf isn't quite as hectic as that in the future! Cheers Gaza

Bournemouth was a night-mare last weekend, In the end if you wanted waves you had to hassle, I watched before i went in and it was utter madness! really bad attitudes in there too (as per usual) It was like a contest but with about 20plus people! Bournemouth is always dangerous and not a fun place to surf anymore, Some of the guys complaining hassling last weekend are the worst too,I think if you really have a strong opinion on this matter dont hide behind weird and wonderfull names, put your name down or dont comment at all. The Lifeguards are an essential part of the reef project and ive got to say do a great job! highly trained experienced and all good surfers too,They all have worked really hard to get these jobs, i really dont understand why you insist on being so angry and rude when they do such an important job, i guess its down to ignorance and maybe a case of the green eye monster coming out??, if you have something to say dont hide behind silly "BLOG"names, get your names on here!
