not alien! even worse!!.....german! http://mikrokopter.de/ucwiki/VideoAbspielen?id=188 received that link in my inbox from one of my school chums about 4 months ago. amazing the germans are already blitzkrieging crowded byron bay line ups with the little contraption!!
Yep good link Sqirl, my first thought was that it was a model helicopter.....close(ish very ish!) Joggly could be right about the ''surfcams'' lol. But +5 Joggly for not only following that thing around but you even managed to get the ''whole'' place in there ;) Oh goodness, how busy is it there!!
Fascinating really , a whole new style of shot will be created by guys who cant swim let alone surf. In the heaviest conditions. Purists will frown but this things going to get results. Are they already out there ? Quite Proud of my little vid now. Again thanks for the link Sqirl. I've watched it a few times. The GPS position lock (?) is mind bending !
Oh yes mate! This thing has awesome surf movie potential. The possibilities for a gps waypoint ‘virtual dolly’ tracking and smoothly travelling with the wave face and varying height is blatantly insane for a film maker. When not filming you could ferry bacon sarnies out to the line up and some tinnies. Anyone remember “big trakâ€? http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QThWgzT4Q1s this was number one on my Christmas present list as a nipper, I had been pestering the oldies for it for ages. Come xmas morning dad says to me “do you want to see your main present now?†to which he gets off the sofa, walks to the kitchen like a robot and picks up an apple and takes a big bite. “there you go son, I’ve just saved myself £40 and you an hours worth of programming directions into r2d2’s retarded brotherâ€
Hahaha. Veeps, I saw a YouTube clip this past year of a show called 'Robot Wars'(I think) that was once(and may still be?) popular in the UK...Now I know where all those adult UK robot builders/programmers got their original inspiration. I shudder to think what you could (and would) do to Sir Muenchklerr in the line up if you ever owned one of those flying contraptions. Delivering bacon sarnies(?) isn't one of them.
