After a heavy day of surf on Saturday in what can only be described as epic conditions the competitors and European judges where treated to a night of fun at the Retallackââ¬â¢s flowrider the Loop. The evening which raised funds for the Precious Lives Appeal in memory of Newquay toddler Joe Way raised ã500. Adults and children had lessons on the Southwestââ¬â¢s only flowrider which was also streamed live on the internet and after the raffle the mountain bike was donated back by Portuguese judge Filipe Anjos who had won but decided Portugal was a long way to cycle back to, Filipe also donated 50 Euros to Joes fund. Jason Keyter of Retallack who was also the evenings MC then auctioned the bike off which was won by Paul Hutchinson owner of Perranporth Signs and Graphics who also sponsored the ETL Watergate surf event and Joe Ways Paddle for life by providing all the signage. The highlight of the evening was Judge Norman Wright and BLU founder Minnow Green who after a whip round by Ben Skinner which reached ã150 surfed the Flowrider in Speedoââ¬â¢s much to the delight of the crowd.
