Hundreds of 10-15 tonne boulders will be used to rebuild the Kirra groyne to its original length, at a cost of $800,000. Up to 30 metres of the groyne was removed in 1996, but locals have successfully campaigned for it to be reinstated. Andrew Kidman surveyor
