"I've had trouble with my sinuses for the last couple of days, but I'm keen to get back in the water so I'm meeting Luke (Egan) up at Pupukea or Gas Chambers for a paddle session this afternoon. I've been really enjoying it.
"My sinuses have been mucked up from that final day at the Sunset contest. I got rolled and felt like I'd been picked up by my feet and had my head dragged underwater; my mouth and nose just filling up like a bucket, as though my whole brain was waterlogged. I felt punch drunk.
"I took off on the next wave and when I got to the bottom I looked up at the wall, just way up there, and at the same time my foot slipped off the front of my board and I copped it again, ha ha ha." Joel Parkinson
Anyway, it's all coming good today finally, so time to get out there.
