Read the comments below... if I had my video cam ready on a tripod it would have been better...I just thought I'd share the experience with a few others...Jamie was pretty impressive in this somewhat murderous break. We went over to him in a small boat (second segment) and he had a few gaping gashes on his face. We asked him if he wanted to come back to the boat to get cleaned up. He said "No it's the best I've had in 5 years". We even have a photo of him sitting on his board cranking thru a barrel...pretty impressive.

JO had a videographer and photographer on the beach at the time. I would expect that there will be some quality footage in one of his movies, assumming that's what he's been doing travelling around indo with cameramen in tow. I have got some good footage of a little later in the day (I was in the water at the time) taken on a standard digital video camera. You should of seen it at around midday couple of feet bigger (around 8ft), and it nearly doubled in size from your footage by low tide (mid afternoon) , big foamball 300-400m long. I guess you could say JO put on a show in the morning and the Ocean put on a show in the afternoon, he was still out there though, even tried to surf the next section (200m from the last shelters) that was doing a good impersonation of Pipeline.

Hi Tremmer....yeah it was a great day... we were on the Dreamweaver anchored nearby from 6.00am till mid afternoon and you're right it certainly did crank up. We noticed JO had a few slices in his face and offered a rip back to the boat to get patched up. He just said " Na! It's the best I've had in 5 years!!" Cheers

Get a stopwatch and set it... time it...the segment is over 41 secs and I didn't get him as he first dropped in, so there is some time before the camera started. At one stage he shot out and then back in...it is easily over 30 secs. Unfortunately, it is a still camera shooting from the boat...nevertheless...he was shacked!!
