Light Cross-Shore wind
Surf conditions at 6.45 a.m. on Wednesday 22nd May 2013:
It's a much brighter morning this morning but that northerly breeze is still keeping the temperatures down!
And it is making the surf a little sloppy too.
The surf is a foot or two at best, the occasional slightly bigger one surprising itself as it rolls to the beach, catching the others up, so I guess that there are a couple of swells overlapping out there.
Right now the tide is probably at its worst and so we might just enjoy a more fun surf session later as the tide slips on in. I'm guessing that it will be a couple of feet and not too sloppy by late morning, being a bit better again by early afternoon.
Yep we should be able to enjoy a couple of feet of lightly chopped, lightly slopped fun surf, as long as that wind doesn't increase too much!
With that big Bank Holiday about to arrive we have been getting the shop into some sort of shape with new lighting, Superfast Broadband, a new rail or two and a little coat of paint and we're almost (nowhere near) ready to launch into another new season of fun-in-the-sun! (!!??).
New stock is being squeezed onto the rails alongside those few Winter items that we are reluctant to let go of this Spring. We are still selling warm and cosy stuff and our wetsuit boots and gloves are in as much demand as they were in the middle of Winter! But now so too are those Reef flip flops, our Vans canvas shoes, sun hats and suncream as well!
Yep, it is all a little crowded in our tiny little surf store right now but at least we have most stuff that you'll need, whatever the weather!
And this week we have more great stuff arriving too!
A new (to the UK) brand of surf clothing is on its way, our own Ts are being printed, a top secret design collaboration is under way for our own designs and new hardware stock is being delivered daily.
So, for deck grip, leashes, ding-repair packs, bike racks, surfboard fins (FCS as well as the new 'Futures'), swim fins (have you seen those Pink Hydros?), the best surfboards in the area (and we have BeachBeat demos) and Bodyboards, well , we have the lot and more to come!
All of the best quality and all at the best price too.
And all those wetsuits too!
The new Xcel summer suits are in and the new range of O'Neill summer suits are on their way (we hope!). And Alder have a sneakily wonderful, super priced, sealed seam suit for well under a hundred quid! It's flexi too! Just ask Ben Bennet, their newly sponsored team rider!
So, why not drop in on us if you are over this way this holiday. We probably have what you need at a decent price and we can guide and advise too, if you need it!
