Medium Onshore wind
Surf conditions at 6.45 a.m. on Thursday 23rd May 2013:
Brrrr, that's a bit cold for May!
The north westerly wind continues to blow and it is blowing a little stronger again this morning, trashing the three feet, maybe plus of surf and sand-blasting us all with that cold, cold air!
It is a bit of a bleak place to be this morning, that flat light of an early, bright enough kind of morning, the sand piling up in the corners, the waves not sure where to go.
But it is bright and dry and it will warm up soon enough. I can't see the surf improving that much any time soon, this afternoon's high tide being the most likely hope for a half decent session but there are waves and that's always better than flat! How about the far coast?
With that big Bank Holiday about to arrive we have been getting the shop into some sort of shape with new lighting, Superfast Broadband, a new rail or two and a little coat of paint and we're almost (nowhere near) ready to launch into another new season of fun-in-the-sun! (!!??).
New stock is being squeezed onto the rails alongside those few Winter items that we are reluctant to let go of this Spring.
Brixton (Not the neo urban London village, the uber cool Cali surf/skate co. Check out vimeo.com/59978186) Ts and boardies arrived yesterday and they're looking GOOD!
We are still selling warm and cosy stuff and our wetsuit boots and gloves are in as much demand as they were in the middle of Winter! But now so too are those Reef flip flops, our Vans canvas shoes, sun hats and suncream as well!
Yep, it is all a little crowded in our tiny little surf store right now but at least we have most stuff that you'll need, whatever the weather!
And this week we have more great stuff arriving too!
Our own Ts are being printed, a top secret design collaboration is under way for our own designs and new hardware stock is being delivered daily, Our Meyerhoffer and Haydenshapes surfboards arrived yesterday along with one or two others and Mister John Copley is expected today with a van load of O&E and Kelly's Kommunity Project accessories and hardware.
So, for deck grip, leashes, ding-repair packs, bike racks, surfboard fins (FCS as well as 'Futures'), swim fins (have you seen those Pink Hydros?), the best surfboards in the area (and we have BeachBeat demos) and Bodyboards, well , we have the lot and more to come!
All of the best quality and all at the best price too.
And all those wetsuits too!
The new Xcel summer suits are in and the new range of O'Neill summer suits are on their way (we hope!). And Alder have a sneakily wonderful, super priced, sealed seam suit for well under a hundred quid! It's flexi too! Just ask Ben Bennet, their newly sponsored team rider!
So, why not drop in on us if you are over this way this holiday. We probably have what you need at a decent price and we can guide and advise too, if you need it!
