Surf conditions at 6.15 a.m. on Saturday 25th May 2013:
So, the forecasts are right!
It's a bright 'n beautiful morning, the breeze gently wafting offshore, the small but surfable waves deep blue in the morning light.
There are a half a dozen out already, reminding us that it's a holiday weekend and they're enjoying the couple of feet or so of still fairly close-fetch stuff. Those waves need this offshore breeze to smarten themselves up a bit, they're still trying to catch each other up and are still a little bouncy. With clear blue skies and a big fat Sun up there, it is looking as fine a holiday as can be!
We might see some sea breezes developing through lunch time but this evening's Spring high tide should offer something cleaner and more fun again.
Have a great day, whatever you're doing!
With that big Bank Holiday upon us we have been getting the shop into some sort of shape with new lighting, Superfast Broadband, a new rail or two and a little coat of paint and we're almost (nowhere near) ready to launch into another new season of fun-in-the-sun! (!!??).
New stock is being squeezed onto the rails alongside those few Winter items that we are reluctant to let go of this Spring.
Brixton (Not the neo urban London village, the uber cool Cali surf/skate co. Check out vimeo.com/59978186) Ts and boardies have arrived and they're looking GOOD!
We are still selling warm and cosy stuff and our wetsuit boots and gloves are in as much demand as they were in the middle of Winter! But now so too are those Reef flip flops, our Vans canvas shoes, sun hats and suncream as well!
Yep, it is all a little cramped in our tiny little surf store right now but at least we have most stuff that you'll need, whatever the weather!
Our Meyerhoffer and Haydenshapes surfboards have arrived along with one or two others and Mister John Copley dropped a van load of O&E and Kelly's Kommunity Project accessories and hardware to us with another little surprise drop due today!
So, for deck grip (Gorilla, O&E, Kommunity Project and FCS), leashes, ding-repair packs, surfboard bike racks, surfboard fins (FCS as well as 'Futures' (and Captain Fin Co on their way!)), swim fins (have you seen those Pink Hydros?), the best surfboards in the area (and we have BeachBeat demos) and Bodyboards, well , we have the lot and more to come!
All of the best quality and all at the best price too.
And all those wetsuits!
The new Xcel summer suits are in and the new range of O'Neill summer suits finally turned up late yesterday! And Alder have a sneakily wonderful, super priced, sealed seam suit for well under a hundred quid! It's flexi too! Just ask Ben Bennet, their newly sponsored team rider!
So, why not drop in on us if you are over this way this holiday. We probably have what you need at a decent price and we can guide and advise too, if you need it!
