Surf conditions at 6.05 a.m. on Saturday 6th July 2013:
It's a good 'un!
A decent three foot swell is rolling along our jaggedy little coastline, throwing up decent peaks at all the expected spots. The sets are bigger, all shiny in these calm conditions, the wave faces clean and glassy, the sea's surface really needing an offshore to make it special.
The breeze is onshore, drifting in from the west, just adding a bump to everything.
But it's all good! Any low level cloud is shifting quite quickly, allowing some bright and cheerful sunshine to warm us all up.
The car park is already more than half full and there's half a dozen already out on the Point but the swell seems pretty steady and the wind seems calm, so most breaks along the coast will be working. And that will spread the load. There should be plenty of places to shuffle off to for a decent surf today!
The Mr. Price Pro should be winding up to the finals in decent surf down in South Africa today. Watch all the action at www.mrpricepro.com And they are very thoughtfully not too far adrift on the time difference either!
