Calm Cross-Shore wind
Surf conditions at 6.10 a.m. on Thursday 18th July 2013:
As this sunny and warm stretch of weather spreads itself into something resembling a summer, the media has started its usual arm flapping exaggeration. And you just know that those over-profited water companies are going to wheel out the hose pipe bans any second too!
Now, there is not one drop of water more, or less in the world since time began and so if there is a water shortage anywhere then that surely must be a management problem? And whenever there's a water shortage in Cornwall then the management systems surely have to have completely screwed up?
Which is fine but who can you blame when there's a wave shortage?
Did we use too much back in Spring (and we won't mention the surf glut of Winter!).
So is it your fault that we don't have any waves left? Did you use them all up!?
I think that someone somewhere might soon introduce a surfing ban until the Atlantic tops itself up with more surf.
Yep, you can tell that there's not much surf to talk about again this morning, can't you!?
Shin high wash is rippling through, almost rideable, major fun for the mini-groms but a bit of a struggle if you're carrying any weight! There should be more of a longboard glide to be had during the lunchtime high tide but that is probably the best that we can hope for.
Right where's that hose pipe?
