Surf conditions at 6.15 a.m. on Saturday 27th July 2013:
The car park is rammed already, dog walkers' cars and surfers' vans filling all the bays. So you would expect the waves to be good this morning... and they are! Three feet plus of oilly glass is spilling ashore with not even a breeze to ruffle the sea surface as yet. Given the rammed car park the lineups are pretty empty, three or four out to the side of the Reef, the same to the side of the Point.
Some of the sets are a bit fat, others are screaming down the line. But it is pretty much exactly half tide - it should improve through the morning, especially with an offshore breeze predicted! It is a bit cloudy but that is streaked by blue. We might just get away with it!
