Surf conditions at 6.10 a.m. on Saturday 3rd August 2013:
It's one of those 'morning after the short but intense storm the night before' mornings, you know, all damp and breezy and fresh feeling, puddles everywhere but dry. So far.
The surf is pretty rubbish though.
A foot or two of crumbly and broken stuff, the sou' westerly wind just strong enough to jumble those waves about and mix them up. But that is on the dropping tide, it's half way out right now and so it's probably at its worst. Once the tide pushes then it could all improve but only a little.
Still, the water is warming up nicely though and that makes a difference! It will probably be busy enough by this afternoon!
Watch out for those showers though, especially later!
Well done to Rhys (Barfield) and Max (Payne) on getting through to the finals of the Quiksilver King of the Groms 2013. Now, with just a little luck they could end up taking on the world's best during the Quikky Pro in france later on in Autumn!
And good to hear from Micah (Lester) who is scoring one of the better swells to hit the Gold Coast of Australia in a while (pics below).
