Surf conditions at 6.20 a.m. on Friday 30th August 2013:
It's one of those mornings to remind us that Autumn is just around the corner!
A steady drizzle is dampening the early morning greyness, sky and sea merging, the small broken waves shining tourquoise before breaking white after.
Yep, it's a gloomy and damp start but it is mild for all that and the surf, although still real small, looks a bit more solid. The one to two feet of crumbly surf is more evenly spaced than it has been for a few days and where those waves are peaking they are looking just that bit stronger. And some of the infrequent sets look like they just might be building.
With the lightest of westerly winds blowing gently in, I guess that the mizzle and drizzle will shift soon enough to be replaced by something brighter and lighter and that same wind should support this little swell too. I wouldn't be surprised if it was a different world by lunchtime, where we could be enjoying a decent couple to three feet of more solid surf under brighter skies!
And we have finally received that shipment of surfboards from Channel Islands and ...Lost!
Check the pics below for some happy smiley faces of those who've already grabbed their new sticks!
So, now we are ready for those September swells!
With a massive choice of deck grip, a host of FCS, Futures and Captain Fin Co. fins, a huge selection of leashes along with all those other bits 'n bobs that help to improve those surf sessions, it should very well be worth a drop-in for a look-see if you're around this way!
