Surf conditions at 6.45 a.m. on Thursday 19th September 2013:
The wind has quietly slipped to the south west, usually a sign that the surf might build but it is actually smaller this morning.
Three feet of fairly choppy surf is rolling in, a bit steeper than it has been this last few days but still quite bumpy and lumpy. Other than that, it's an overcast and breezy morning, mild but with the odd power shower lurking just over there.
The full moon set a good wile ago and hasn't yet been replaced by a full sun, that might take a day or two.
In the meantime, the breeze is likely to slip back to north westerly by this afternoon, making for even choppier conditions, while not doing much for teh swell either!
So, once again, there is surf but it's not what you would call, 'great'!
The European Surfing Championships are running dow in the Azores and Ben Skinner has picked up his umpteenth Longboard title (eleventh?). Now he's heading on to the World Longboard Chamionships in peru with a real chance of doing better than well!
