4ft Light Cross-Shore wind * * *
Surf conditions at 7.50 a.m. on Saturday 19th October 2013: There's a very pleasant three to four feet of fairly clean surf rolling our way this fairly bright and mild but very Atumny morning. That wind has dropped overnight and has swung to the south, almost offshore but not quite, leaving bumpyish and slightly sloppy waves but still with a lot of shape to them. The Point has long rights rolling off it with one guy enjoying an early morning solo session, while the peak in the middle is churning itself inside out in the Rip. The Reef is a bit sectiony, walling up across the back and then those sections collapsing in turn across the wave. That could be fun but I think that the point takes it. The wind is probably going to strengthen at least a little through midday as the tide drops but it should weaken off again as the tide races back in for its half six high, so this afternoon is looking really promising! Good luck to all of the students down at Fistral Bay for the BUCS Universities Competition, one of the biggest surf contests in the world. You guys have lucked in this weekend - enjoy!
