Medium Cross-Shore wind
Surf conditions at 7.15 a.m. on Friday 15th November 2013:
Autumn has been a bit slow to get going this year but it has been flexing its leaf shedding muscles this last week or two and today is very much an Autumn day.
The wind is lighter than it has been, freshly gusting from the north as that grey dawn struggles to turn into something brighter. It does feel chilly and sharp and yet the thermometer is reading 10 deg C, the wind chill doing it's thing.
The surf continues to pound the shore, four feet with five feet and bigger sets, a majestic peak rolling in at Booby's every now and then. But it is still bouncy and mixed up. The forecasts are all showing that the wind should shift more to direct northerly, maybe (hopefully) slipping to the north east by early afternoon.
That would clean up the surf and should help some decent waves to shape their way onto all of the local breaks.
It's definitely a 'maybe' right now but it could just get very good by this afternoon.
And with some cold weather aiming our way for next week, now might be the time to consider upgrading your winter wetsuit or getting your first one? We have the complete range of this season's Xcel and O'Neill winter suits on the rails, so if you're around this way this weekend, why not drop in on us for a look-see!
Have a little look at this from Sharpy, a few Winter rules at surfm.ag/2013/11/14/winter-rules
And if you are traveling our way this weekend, you can stop off for some great refreshment at Strong Adolfo's on the Atlantic Highway, just this side of Wadebridge.
I haven't managed to get in there yet but all the guys are frothing over it. Great coffee, great food, great breakfasts, a great place. I might have to start opening later soon to give me a chance to try it out myself!
