Surf conditions at 7.40 a.m. on Monday 18th November 2013:
That is way better than expected and way better than the conditions would normally indicate.
A decent couple of feet of surf is rolling ashore with decently solid three feet sets marching in every now and then. And it is clean and organised and lined up, in spite of the light onshore wind!
The breeze is from the north west this morning, fairly light but fresh enough to normally crumble and slop the surf.
But those wave walls are glassy this morning and they are holding their shape too. The Point is looking fun as well as the Reef, that swell must have some underlying strength in it to hold its shape, it is well travelled and with a double digit wave period to it.
The forecasts are showing only light breezes until early afternoon and so we might just have some fun surf until then!
Shame about the gloomy weather again though.
Oh, and this is fairly important: Google are pulling their checkout (Google Wallet) payment facilities on the 20th November and so any purchases from our website from then will not be able to be processed!
As most regular visitors to the site know, we have had problems in trying to re-build and modernise the site. But the long and short of it is is that the checkout stuff on the shop part of the site will not be working as we cannot get into the site to remove it!
So it might just be advisable if you DO NOT USE IT!
Now there's a message that every shopkeeper wants to advertise on the build up to Christmas!
With some cold weather aiming our way soon, now might be the time to consider upgrading your winter wetsuit or getting your first one? We have the complete range of this season's Xcel and O'Neill winter suits on the rails, so if you're around this way, why not drop in on us for a look-see!
And have a little look at this from Sharpy, a few Winter rules at surfm.ag/2013/11/14/winter-rules
