Surf conditions at 7.40 a.m. on Saturday 7th December 2013:
The wind has swung around, a steady but quite light west south westerly making the couple to maybe, only occasionally, three feet of surf all a bit sloppy.
It's not as mixed up and out of control as it was during midweek, there are distinct lines of waves with a bump to them and a bit of slop but otherwise quite fun looking. That is at pretty much high tide and so it is probably at its most sheltered, it might become increasingly mixed up as the tide drops back, especially if the wind increases at all. But I reckon that it will stay in the two to three feet and okay sort of range, not too mixed up but hardly clean either!
The weather is likely to be a bit mixed too, there are dark clouds out to the west while bright blue and pink streaked slithers of sky are breaking the horizon to the east.
It is likely to stay mainly dry and brighten up a little through this afternoon maybe.
Padstow Christmas Festival has kicked off, with glorious food in abundance at every turn. 'Lonely Planet' has declared it to be 'one of the top ten Christmas markets in Europe' with more celeb chefs than you can shake a mixing stick at offering demos and tidbits all the way through the weekend!
Yep, the run up to Christmas has started!
