Surf conditions at 7.35 a.m. on Friday 20th December 2013:
It's okay around here this morning on the drop of the tide, not great (yet?) but okay.
There's a decent three to four to five feet plus of bumpy swell rolling around the headland still and it is forecast to get bigger too. Right now the smaller waves have that crumble to it, a combination of dropping tide wobble and that wind being a little more westerly than we would choose. But those set waves are towering onto the Rock and wrapping in, a good sign for later.
It should be really good by low tide on the turn, those usual places (Cheyne's) being full of promise again. It was good yesterday after a slow start and only for a while but when it was on, it was firing. And so it should be again today. Time it right and you are going to get some really good waves!
And then there are those other tucked away spots that are going to be reeling today too. Those places that you have to scramble and slide down tracks to get to.
Yep, there's going to be good surf again today and it's much brighter (so far) too!
