Surf conditions at 11.11 a.m. on Monday 23rd December 2013:
That wind is hammering into the wave faces here this morning!
The wind is holding those smaller than I would have expected but still whomping great wave faces, tall and hollow until that last possible sand drenching moment. We watched a guy get a merciless drubbing trying to force the drop against that wind! Sometimes it is best just to pull back if you're in too late in these conditions! But not as much fun, eh!
Anyway, it is three to four to five feet and bigger on some sets, with a blasting offshore wind making it as hollow as you like.
I can think of a couple of sheltered spots, tucked away at the end of muddy paths, a slip and a slide down stony cliffsides but they will be good today!
But here is reeling off and it should improve through the low tide at that place too.
