Surf conditions at 7.50 a.m. on Tuesday 7th January 2014:
The swell has dropped quite a bit around here this morning, it is still booming through but without that ferociousness of yesterday!
Three to four to five feet of surf continues to roll through, bigger on the occasional sets, the south, sou' westerly wind still blowing into those wave faces, still holding those waves up until the last possible minute!
It's a good couple of hours before high tide and those set waves are already washing along what's left of Anthony's battered sea defence, the bigger surges getting under the bridge. So I guess that it might just be that bit bigger than it looks here as well!
But, as the day calms and brightens and the sea gradually calms, you can just feel a day of fun surf about to unfold.
Although there are going to be some breaks along the coast that are going to turn on today and will probably end up being pretty fabulous. It could still be worth having a little shuffty further afield if you're looking for some perfection!
