Surf conditions at 7.55 a.m. on Thursday 6th February 2014:
It's looking pretty good around here today!
The swell has eased up, as well as the wind and so those still solid four foot waves are grinding in and looking much more manageable than they have done for a wee while now.
Yep, it actually looks more fun than challenging!
A couple of hours or so ahead of high tide there are peeling (for Harlyn!) and hollow three to four foot waves spinning off the Rock, the set waves still packing some size and probably surprising some with their power.
The sky is that sombre grey but the rain has eased away (if only for a moment or two), the wind is light and getting lighter, blowing in from the south, maybe trying to swing even further around the dial.
It's a bit of a shame that the tide will be dropping through most of the day but there should be enough power in the swell to keep fun waves pushing through, even on that dropping tide.
Yep, it's looking good!
