Surf conditions at 7.25 a.m. on Wednesday 19th February 2014:
It's a silver light that's shining over us this morning, wall to wall cloud but not too threatening (yet!).
It's mild too, an 8 deg C early morning mid February temperature can't be all bad. And how mild is the water temperature for mid Winter too! It's still almost nudging double figures celsius and it won't be long before it starts to rise.
In the meantime this morning's surf is about four feet, a bit sloppy and lumpy, that wind really light but direct onshore. High tide is in a couple of hours and it's still a big tide, too big to get a decent surf in but it should improve as the tide drops out a bit.
After saying all that, it's not going to be great, there are a whole heap of other places that will have more potential under these conditions.
Right now that light wind is pretty much direct westerly but it is forecast to slip more southerly and that will allow conditions to clean up at Harlyn. Let's have a look around there and see if it's big enough.
