Strong Onshore wind
Surf conditions at 6.55 a.m. on Thursday 27th February 2014:
Well, it's a bright 'n breezy one, if a bit chilly. It is dry so far but there are some dark clouds loitering on the horizon, full of stormy promise while setting a bit of a backdrop behind that front-lit and angry sea.
The surf is about six feet, a windswept and stormy looking grey soup of surf bouncing around the bay. The wind is swooping in from the west with maybe just a bit of north west to it, giving it that chill. Either way, it's onshore and making a mess of the surf.
It's not worth bothering with here this morning!
But it is nice that the days are stretching out a little. Only a little but it's suddenly noticeable!
It won't be long before the pre and post work/school crews start getting on it. All that we really need are some settled conditions allowing for some cleaner swells instead of these non-stop storms!
But that will come with Spring I'm sure!
And with that thought in our minds we have a bit going on in the shop!
With all that lovely new spring and summer stock already on its way to us, we will have to clear a bit more space!
And, with this winter's water temperatures having been so mild, we do have a whole bundle of wonderful winter wetsuits leftover! So, yep, we are going to have a MASSIVE CLEAR-OUT SALE THIS WEEKEND!
So, if you want a spanking new wetsuit, if it's time to upgrade those booties or gloves or even if you are contemplating a new board, maybe this weekend is that time to do it!
