Surf conditions at 6.50 a.m. on Monday 24th March 2014:
It's as pretty as a picture around here this morning, maybe a dark and overcast picture but pleasant nonetheless.
There's a foot or two of immaculately shaped waves swinging into the bay, springing up vertical before spinning across the beach.
It is small, a couple of feet at best but it's also glassy and clean and hollow.
It might just get a little bit bigger as the tide reaches its small high (5.9 m) in a few hours but inevitably will decrease in size on the outgoing tide.
But with a new swell forecast those waves could well build on this evening's tide.
in the meantime the other side is the place to be.
We might very well (will!) lose our site for at least some time today and maybe tomorrow but it should be worth it!
Watch this space!
And we are still looking for staff, part time, full time, shop staff, a web person and maybe a warehouse (shed!) person. Send your resume to email@example.com!
Rhys Barfield is off to Ecuador at the end of the month for the ISA World Junior Championships and the groms are desperately trying to raise the funds necessary to get them there without bankrupting their mums and dads. Since the mega surf companies aren't yet embarrassed enough to provide any support for the U.K. Groms, it's down to everyone else to do it! So go to www.crowdfunder.co.uk/support-teamgb and pay a little back to the kids! Here's a clip of Rhys while in Australia a week or two ago: vimeo.com/89278068
