Surf conditions at 7.05 a.m. on Thursday 27th March 2014:
Three to four feet of silver surf is smoothly gliding in against the lightest of offshore breezes this morning.
The air is calm, the sky is a metallic grey while those peeling waves are slicing their way to dry sand, another morning of birdsong and waves.
There’s another hour or two before low water, a very high low tide today (over a metre and a half!) and so maybe those proper low tide breaks might not break as well as they might. But with the wind forecast to remain light and the swell steady with a double digit wave period rhythm to it, there’s every reason to think that it should just get better throughout the morning.
Yep, a day full of head high and clean, screaming waves await!
Rhys Barfield is off to Ecuador at the end of the week for the ISA World Junior Championships and the groms are desperately trying to raise the funds necessary to get them there without bankrupting their mums and dads.
Since the mega surf companies aren’t yet embarrassed enough to provide any support for the U.K. Groms, it’s down to everyone else to do it! So go to www.crowdfunder.co.uk/support-teamgb and pay a little back to the kids!
Here’s a clip of Rhys while in Australia a week or two ago… http://vimeo.com/89278068
