Surf conditions at 7.10 a.m. on Sunday 30th March 2014:
It is mild this early feeling morning, all overcast and layered with low cloud yet mild feeling. All that cloud and stuff is forecast to lift soon enough anyway.
There’s a small but very solid little swell rolling in, all glassy and clean, the very lightest of offshore breezes barely breathing against those waves as the tide washes back. The swell is a couple of feet and it’s producing two to three feet of clean and peeling waves in the bay with taller peaks off the back of the Reef.
It is looking and feeling so promising for a very pleasant day of fun surf, way smaller than it has been but still snappy and very, very surfable.
Rhys Barfield is off to Ecuador at the end of next week for the ISA World Junior Championships and so he and the rest of the groms are desperately trying to raise the funds necessary to get them there without bankrupting their mums and dads.
Since the mega surf companies aren’t yet embarrassed enough to provide any support for the U.K. Groms, it’s down to everyone else to do it! So go to http://www.crowdfunder.co.uk/support-teamgb and pay a little back to the kids!
Here’s a clip of Rhys while in Australia a week or two ago… http://vimeo.com/89278068
