Surf conditions at 6.20 a.m. on Saturday 10th May 2014:
Ah, Harlyn, what would we do without it?
At least we can sidle out of the wind around here this morning. Only a little but at least there is some shelter.
There’s not a lot of surf getting in here this morning, not yet anyway.
The tide is an hour or two ahead of low and there’s a little one to two foot wave cranking off behind the Rock, a shallow grinding right-hander spinning to the sand.
That should get bigger.
As the wind strengthens so it will blow more swell around and into the bay and so we should see some bigger surf here by lunchtime. But that same wind is likely to blow hard on those waves. It could be hard work out there this afternoon, rewarding later possibly but a heavy, windy, grinding and lumpy surf probably!
And you thought that we had left those conditions behind us for this year!
