Medium Offshore wind
Surf conditions at 6.25 a.m. on Friday 18th July 2014:
That was a lightshow and a half wasn’t it!
Lightning flashes everywhere and deep throated thundering booms for most of the night furnishing a thousand streaky pics on social media.
And so you would expect a fresh and cheerful morning after all that but it’s not the case.
A grey and sultry morning has greeted us, still warm, still muggy, a gusting but still mainly light wind blowing offshore.
You get the feeling that theses storms haven’t finished with us just yet!
Nah, that is pretty much flat. Clean and offshore and smooth and everything but almost flat. There is the (very) occasional, almost rideable wave shadowing in against the wind from way out there but even those ones are only shin to knee high.
Too flat to surf, too windy to paddle.
That should change as the day bumbles along with some brightness eventually unfolding while the wind backs to the south west, helping to push at least a little windswell our way later.
